Firstsource Call Centers
Firstsource is a global provider of call center and business process outsourcing services. The company is based in India and is publicly traded on the Indian Stock Exchange (under the symbol NSD: FSL). Almost 30,000 people around the world work for Firstsource. Many of those employees are call center workers. Firstsource focuses on three primary lines of business, the largest of which is referred to as “Digitally Empowered Contact Centers.”
Firstsource call centers handle calls and interactions for most of the major hospitals and insurance companies in the United States, as well as some of the largest financial institutions and telecom companies. These calls and interactions are handled from 42 call centers located around the world. Firstsource call center agents handled over 200 million customer interactions in 2020.
Because Firstsource is such a global powerhouse with a huge number of different types of customers, call center agents have the potential to work on a wide variety of different teams and are exposed to a number of different potential career paths.
Firstsource Work from Home Agent Jobs
Firstsource has embraced remote work opportunities. They describe how employees work from home in an infographic titled the “Virtual Operating Model” which outlines the tools and infrastructure provided for Firstsource work from home call center agents. Firstsource contact centers are configured to allow agents to work remotely as well as in a physical call center. Tools such as voice and facial recognition are used to uniquely identify agents for security reasons.
The Firstsource career center includes a specific category for “remote” positions. A recent review showed 16 remote call center opportunities in the U.S. An example position is a full time work from home customer service position in the healthcare space. The job requirements are quite simple — a high school diploma or equivalent, a computer, and good communication skills. The job responsibilities are described as follows:

• Handling a high volume of inbound calls for Healthcare Member and Provider inquiries
• Be able to answer Healthcare Member and Provider inquiries and type information into the computer system simultaneously

- Must have Internet to include a router with Ethernet jack for connectivity to PC
- Must have a private workstation to perform your work
- Call center experience preferred. Health insurance experience preferred.
